Pokemon GO, Max Finale

What's up, Trainers!

The biggest party in Pokémon GO history is finally here: the 'Max Finale'! From the legendary Eternatus to a massive reunion of every Gigantamax Pokémon we've ever seen, this event is so packed it's almost overwhelming.

But with only a week to get it all done, you can't do everything. To save you from that dreaded end-of-event FOMO ("Fear Of Missing Out"), this is your guide to what actually matters. Let's dive in and make you the MVP of this event!

🎯 #1 Priority: Drop Everything and Get Eternatus!

Let's be crystal clear: your main quest, your number one goal, is Eternatus. Think of every other raid as just a side quest. Why? Because Eternatus is set to become the new #1 attacker for BOTH Poison and Dragon types. This single Pokémon will completely revolutionize your raid squads.

You can only catch one Eternatus through the free 'GO Pass: Max Finale' Special Research. Then, during the weekend (Aug 23-24), you'll need to battle 'Eternamax' Eternatus in special Max Battles to farm as much Candy as you can to power yours up. This Candy grind is the key to winning the event!

So, How Do You Actually BEAT Eternatus?

Alright, we've established that Eternatus is your top target. But this thing is going to be an absolute monster in battle, and walking in unprepared is not an option.

Wondering exactly which Pokémon to bring, the best moves to use, and the ultimate strategy to guarantee a win? We've got you covered. Check out our complete, in-depth guide to the fight:

🌟 Your Smart Trainer's Priority List

Don't get lost in the chaos. Here's what you should focus on.

🥇 Top Priority (Don't-Miss List!)

  1. Get Eternatus & Farm Its Candy: The entire reason for this event. No excuses!
  2. Raid for Zacian & Zamazenta (Crowned Forms): These two are your golden tickets to easily clearing the flood of Gigantamax raids during the event. If you don't have them, get them now. They are top-tier attackers.
  3. Hunt S-Tier Gigantamax Pokémon: You don't need all of them. Focus your energy on the all-stars like Gengar, Charizard, and Toxtricity, who will dominate their types. More on them below!

🥈 Second Priority (If You Have Time)

  • 'Pokedexing' Raids: For any G-Max Pokémon you're missing from your collection, do at least one raid to fill that spot. It's satisfying!
  • Rank Up Your GO Pass: Keep completing those pass tasks to earn sweet rewards like outfits, Pokémon encounters, and more.

🌟 S-Tier G-Max: Who Should You Raid For?

Not all Gigantamax Pokémon are created equal. To save your precious Raid Passes, here are the "Big Three" you'll definitely regret skipping.

🥇 #1: Gigantamax Gengar

  • Why? It's the undisputed #1 Ghost-type attacker! Gengar was already a powerful glass cannon. Gigantamaxing pushes its power to a whole new level, letting it deal insane DPS (damage per second) to Psychic and Ghost-type bosses. It's the final piece of the puzzle for a perfect Ghost squad.

🥈 #2: Gigantamax Toxtricity

  • Why? It's an elite dual-threat Poison & Electric attacker! Toxtricity is currently the #1 Poison-type attacker in the game, making it essential for Fairy-type raids. At the same time, it's a top-tier Electric-type, rivaling even legends like Zekrom. Being a star in two important types makes it incredibly valuable.

🥉 #3: Gigantamax Charizard

  • Why? It's a classic, top-tier Fire-type powerhouse! We already know how strong Mega Charizard Y is, and the Gigantamax version continues that legacy. It stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Reshiram as a top Fire-type attacker. Even if you have a good one, a G-Max version is well worth the investment.

⏰ Your Weekend Game Plan (Aug 23-24): Juggling Eternatus & G-Max

The weekend will be hectic. To avoid burnout, stick to this one simple rule: "Farm Eternatus Candy first, and use the downtime for G-Max raids."

When the event starts at 10 AM, your first move should be to find an 'Eternamax' Eternatus battle. Join a big group and knock out a raid or two to get that precious candy. Then, in the time between Eternatus spawns, check the raid schedule. If one of your S-Tier G-Max targets is active, go for it! If not, take a break. You need the courage to pass on the less important raids.

Trying to do everything is a recipe for disaster. If you walk away from this event with a powered-up Eternatus and your top G-Max targets, you've already won. Good luck, and have an awesome week!
